Progress in the Back Yard is SLOW!

We save our wine bottles and use them as edging! Other people save wine bottles for us too!

We have huge trees and not a lot of grass! Hopefully in the fall we will be able to seed and mulch! But for now, it is as good as it can get! The mosquitos love it! 

signs that Summer is close~

My Hydrangea's are Blooming! They are the most beautiful shade of blue!
     Shells by the sea, I always take pictures of them! I can never pick up just one!
        My soul mate, and the ocean, there are no words to describe my contentment.
           Beauty, grace, and peace, wash over me whenever I am near.
A little green monster!

I've been knitting again!

these are baby bibs, made out of cotton yarn. When feeding time is done, clean that sweet face with the bib, it doubles as a wash cloth!
         One of our neighbors is having a baby girl! So I had to knit a sweater!

Okay, that is a squirrel proof bird feeder, not so much!
My gargoyle he is the keeper of the rosemary! Watches over it like a hawk!

Mark made me this window box, I love it, it reminds me of pictures I have seen of Europe. 

Now the neighbors want them too! My husband is so good at wood working.

Vada

This is Vada Rose, she is the precious daughter of our friends Pat and Anna Leigh. Vada was shopping all day with her Momma and me on Saturday and then came over for a cook out! 

This sweet creature is the most beautiful, delightful, captivating child! I love to take pictures of her, because she is beautiful! I can babble on some more, but I think you get the idea, I am in love with this baby!

The Garden is Planted!

Ruby, did too much gardening!

Yellow squash and zucchini, and in the barrel, arugula and spring mix.
all the veggies! we are sharing the garden with our neighbors, Amy & Doug, the garden is between our houses, we are sharing the work, expense, and rewards!

Easter

Vada spent Easter with us along with her wonderful parents.

Flame Thrower!

The propane company behind our house had a planned burn today! Yikes, kind of scary but cool at the same time! 
Can you see the flame out the window?
According to the police, which yes I did call, this is a normal thing they do!
I'm just glad Mark was home at the time, other wise I would have freaked!

Around the house

These roses are from the market, Spring = flowers even if your own garden is not in bloom yet.
Since I have decided to show some of the corners of my home and how I decorate, here is a Window my father in law gave to me. We just love it in the window!
my new book ends, really they are claw foot tub feet! I think they make wonderful book ends.
