Flame Thrower!

The propane company behind our house had a planned burn today! Yikes, kind of scary but cool at the same time!
Can you see the flame out the window?
According to the police, which yes I did call, this is a normal thing they do!
I'm just glad Mark was home at the time, other wise I would have freaked!

Around the house

These roses are from the market, Spring = flowers even if your own garden is not in bloom yet.
Since I have decided to show some of the corners of my home and how I decorate, here is a Window my father in law gave to me. We just love it in the window!
my new book ends, really they are claw foot tub feet! I think they make wonderful book ends.

Another Winter Wonderland.... Enough Already!

Where are the worms?

Sleeping Beauty!, the night of my surgery, I could not sleep, so I read, played on the internet and took pictures of my sleeping husband.
I love this view, every morning, this is what I wake up to!
Mark bought me primroses at Lowe's yesterday! Isn't he sweet!
My precious Ruby, she is on top of about 5 pillows on the love seat in our bedroom, this is her perch when I am asleep.
My orchid is flowering!!!!! It always amazes me when I see a bloom on the orchid!

The winter blahs

Ruby, I think she is in hibernation!

Wine corks, are we drinking to much?

I made this bread! yep, its called no knead bread and it is DELICIOUS! not to mention very easy! It's great with a big bowl of chili. Google "no knead bread" try it

It may be winter, but the Carolina sun always shines so brightly! Does anyone know a window washer?

I love clothes dried on a clothesline, especially sheets, they smell so delicious, so fresh and clean, I love to put clean sun dried  sheets on the bed and right before I jump in, I like to take a hot bath and then slide into bed and bury myself under the covers and just inhale!
When my boys we're babies, I used cloth diapers, I washed them and hung them out to dry, the sun is a great replacement for bleach and it also sanitizes them. My diapers were always beautifully white and stain free thanks to the sun. No need to buy all sorts of chemicals to put in the washer, just hang the clothes on the line. I still use my clothesline and with the economy the way it is, I plan on using it much more!
Back to basics, the simple life, that is what I want.

Ernie

This is Ernie,  he is suppose to be a Yorkie, he weighs 18 lbs.! We call him our problem child, he's needy, affectionate, ferocious (he thinks) protective, tender, sweet, loving, precious, and Mark's best buddy! Sometimes, Ernie gets more attention than me! But I love him anyway.
He is the only dog that sleeps with us at night, Mark lets him do whatever he wants, now that's true love!!!
