The winter blahs

Ruby, I think she is in hibernation!

Wine corks, are we drinking to much?

I made this bread! yep, its called no knead bread and it is DELICIOUS! not to mention very easy! It's great with a big bowl of chili. Google "no knead bread" try it

It may be winter, but the Carolina sun always shines so brightly! Does anyone know a window washer?

I love clothes dried on a clothesline, especially sheets, they smell so delicious, so fresh and clean, I love to put clean sun dried  sheets on the bed and right before I jump in, I like to take a hot bath and then slide into bed and bury myself under the covers and just inhale!
When my boys we're babies, I used cloth diapers, I washed them and hung them out to dry, the sun is a great replacement for bleach and it also sanitizes them. My diapers were always beautifully white and stain free thanks to the sun. No need to buy all sorts of chemicals to put in the washer, just hang the clothes on the line. I still use my clothesline and with the economy the way it is, I plan on using it much more!
Back to basics, the simple life, that is what I want.

Ernie

This is Ernie,  he is suppose to be a Yorkie, he weighs 18 lbs.! We call him our problem child, he's needy, affectionate, ferocious (he thinks) protective, tender, sweet, loving, precious, and Mark's best buddy! Sometimes, Ernie gets more attention than me! But I love him anyway.
He is the only dog that sleeps with us at night, Mark lets him do whatever he wants, now that's true love!!!

the plants are brown but pretty in snow
the boys boots, when they were just wee ones, I use them as garden art

WOW! I actually got a picture of all of us on Christmas Day, Thank you Tracy for your help!
Yes it was a Beautiful day, both weather wise and just because we had a great day together!
One of my favorite things about living in the South is you can grill out on Christmas day and not have to wear a coat, hat, mittens, scarf... well I think you get the idea! My boys are growing up so fast, and at Christmas, when there are no children around, you really feel it! So Mark bought them each a remote control car! He says, you have to have some kind of toy to play with on Christmas Day!
We hope y'all had the same wonderful time together that we all did!
and  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

   decorating

photographing the moon

indoor gardening

knitting socks for gifts

     knitting more socks for gifts

so many things to do this busy holiday season! Time keeps slipping away, and I am a bit overwhelmed by how much I have left to do
but I had to take a minute to say Merry Christmas to y'all
Enjoy the season, at least for a minute while it sneaks by and we all say, "where did the time go?"
